I was born and raised on a farm in Canaan Valley, West Virginia, where my family raised cattle for most of my youth. I attended Davis Thomas Elementary Middle School and Tucker County High School, where I made lifelong friends. I was lucky enough to watch our Lady Mountain Lions win 3 state AA Championships in a row and was blessed to be the valedictorian of my class. From there, I went to West Virginia University, home of the Mountaineers, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting (BSBA); Master of Professional Accountancy (MPA) and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD). Upon completion, I became a WV-Bar Licensed Attorney and Certified Public Accountant.

While I have always loved my rural WV home, I wanted to expand my horizons so I headed out to Washington, DC and New York City, NY, where I have lived for 6 and 12 years, respectively. Just enough time to become a “city slicker” without losing my country roots! I was lucky enough to work in both the private and public sectors in a wide range of roles. I have had the pleasure of working at top firms, including Deloitte, PwC, Cantor Fitzgerald, and BCG Partners. Additionally, I was able to work at the law firm of J. Davitt McAteer & Associates (Shepherdstown, WV), where we investigated the Upper Big Branch Mining Disaster and at Woolery & Co (NYC, NY), where I was able to work with some of the nation’s top dealmakers.

Among other things, I have experience in auditing and compliance reviews, financial budgeting, tax preparation and advisory, estate planning (from wills to trusts and everything in between), strategizing with executive management and business owners, determining the best way to structure and register a new business, discovering ways to enhance productivity, decrease costs and remediate ineffective controls in an existing company through risk assessments and forensic accounting. Additionally, I have served as a bankruptcy clerk for the Southern District of WV, working with the Honorable Judge Ronald Pearson.

I came home because I love West Virginia and the amazing people who live here, and I want to help you. I am excited to work with you on your legal, financial and tax matters!
